University Entrance Examination for International Students (OMÜ-YÖS) can be taken by international students wishing to study at Ondokuz Mayıs University (OMU) in Turkey at associate and bachelor levels.
With OMÜ-YÖS score, using the Ondokuz Mayıs University Preference system, Amasya University, Ankara Science University, Artvin
Çoruh University, Avrasya University, Bayburt University, Bingöl University, Dicle University, Gümüşhane University, İstanbul University, Kastamonu University, Kilis 7 Aralık University, Lokman Hekim University, Recep Tayyip Erdoğan University, Samsun University, Sinop University, Sivas Science and Technology University, Şırnak University and Muş Alparslan University will be placed in quotas at associate and bachelor levels.
Also,OMÜ-YÖS results are accepted by most state and private universities in Turkey.
OMÜ-YÖS 2023 results are valid for two years.
OMÜ-YÖS 2023 applications will be made completely online in Turkish and English.
In the OMÜ-YÖS 2023 Exam, a face to face test will be applied available either in Turkish, English, French, Russian or Arabic. This test consists of Basic Learning Skills and Mathematics questions. The Basic Learning Skills Test is designed to measure the abstract thinking abilities, basic knowledge and skills of the candidates. The Mathematics Test is designed to measure the mathematical thinking and problem solving competency and abilities of the candidates and consists of mathematical questions on algebra, analysis and geometry.
A total of 80 questions will be asked in the exam. 40 of these will consist of questions on Basic Learning Skills and 40 on Mathematics. Candidates will be given a total of 120 minutes (2 hours).
EVALUATION OF THE EXAM RESULTS
The OMÜ– YÖS 2023 will be assessed separately for each test in three separate categories: Basic Learning Skills, Mathematics and Equal Weight.
1) HOW TO CALCULATE THE MATHEMATICS SCORE
70% of mathematics questions and 30% of basic learning skills questions will be taken into consideration for the Mathematics Score Type. The mathematics score will be calculated using the following formula:
(NUMBER OF CORRECT ANSWERS IN MATHEMATICS * 1,75) + (NUMBER OF CORRECT ANSWERS IN BASIC LEARNING SKILLS * 0,75)
2) TEMEL ÖĞRENME BECERİLERİ PUANININ HESAPLANMASI
70% of basic learning skills questions and 30% of mathematics questions will be taken into consideration for the Basic Learning Skills Score Type. The basic learning skills score will be calculated using the following formula:
(NUMBER OF CORRECT ANSWERS IN BASIC LEARNING SKILLS * 1,75) + (NUMBER OF CORRECT ANSWERS IN MATHEMATICS * 0,75)
3) HOW TO CALCULATE THE EQUAL WEIGHT SCORE
50% of mathematics questions and 50% of basic learning skills questions will be taken into consideration for the Equal Weight Score Type. The equal weight score will be calculated using the following formula:
(NUMBER OF CORRECT ANSWERS IN MATHEMATICS * 1,25) + (NUMBER OF CORRECT ANSWERS IN BASIC LEARNING SKILLS * 1,25)
The coefficients in the formulas are calculated based on a total of 80 questions, consisting of 40 mathematics and 40 basic learning skills, over a 100 points in total.
